Enthusiastic about designing places for sustainable living, and currently enjoying putting this into practice at Climate Action Strathaven.
Delighted to be delivering the Community Fridge project - helping to redistribute unsold food to people living in our community, whilst reducing food waste and greenhouse gas emissions.
I'm driving forward the Avondale Cargo Club to bring zero emission delivery solutions to our local businesses. Less vehicles on our roads will make it easier for people to cycle around our streets again.
Enjoys working with communities, to help make a positive difference. Passionate about the environment and working with people to conserve it.
As Chair of Climate Action Strathaven I am delighted to help make positive changes in our community. I'm passionate about tackling the climate crisis, and creating a sustainable future for our children.
I'm Martin Hill, a resident of Strathaven for 21 years, an NHS 'lifer' (having worked in the NHS for 50 years!) and an active campaigner for environmental sustainability. I helped set up Climate Action Strathaven and act as Secretary to the charity.
Working with all of Strathaven to ensure all children and grandchildren have a sustainable future to look forward to, whilst endeavouring to retain a sense of humour.
I joined Climate Action Strathaven in October 2019 because I was concerned about global warming and wanted to help do something about it. Early in 2020 I became a Trustee and have seen CAS go from strength to strength in raising awareness of climate change through various community initiatives. What has been achieved so far is really remarkable! I am retired with three grandchildren and I'm very concerned about what kind of world they are going to inherit if the global community doesn't act fast enough.
I’m just an ordinary person who’s trying to change the way I do things to minimise the impact I make on the environment. But communities working together can do so much more! As a scientist by training, and now working broadly in science and innovation, I am pleased to contribute whatever useful help and perspectives I can to CAS’ projects.
